About

Jim Cantelon Today

JCT is an engaging verse-by-verse study of the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke/Acts, John). It is both comprehensive and inspiring. Cantelon’s perspective is unique in that he planted the “King of Kings” Church in Israel and lived in Jerusalem with his family for seven years. He knows the country, culture, and history of Israel intimately, and brings those insights to his teaching.

JCT can be accessed Sundays at 7pm in Canada on the Vision network, in the USA on the National Religious Broadcasters Network, and worldwide, anytime, on the Inspirational Network and Jimcantelontoday.com or

About Jim Cantelon

Pastor, author, church-planter, Christian television and radio personality, Jim Cantelon is founder and President of WOW – Working for Orphans & Widows, a Federal Charity whose mission is to empower the local church in sub-Saharan Africa and southern India in the care of the sick and the dying. WOW is currently assisting those churches in that mission by providing Home Based Care to vulnerable orphans and widows.

Cantelon’s first book “Theology For Theologians” (Macmillan NY Publishers), continues to be a popular book with those interested in an entry-level introduction to theology. In his book “When God Stood Up – A Christian Response to AIDS in Africa” (Harper Collins, 2007) Jim chronicles his experiences in Africa, confronted by the devastation of the HIV & AIDS pandemic.

A gifted teacher and communicator, Jim is a former host of Christian talk shows in Canada and the United States including 100 Huntley Street, Eye to Eye, and Talk to Me, a daily talk-television show Jim produced and hosted for broadcast across 14 million homes in the U.S.

Jim’s radio credits include the top-rated Canadian open-line program “Challenge” and, while in Jerusalem, a regular host of “Voice of Hope” radio, operated out of South Lebanon by High Adventure Ministries in a high-pressure war zone.

Jim was born in Olds, Alberta in 1947 and grew up in Saskatchewan and Ontario. He graduated from Central Pentecostal College and entered the pastoral ministry in 1970. He pastored churches in Montreal (1970-1972), Sudbury (1972-1976), Newmarket (1976 -1981), and Broadway Church in Vancouver (1997 – 2000). In 1981 Jim, his wife Kathy, and their three children, moved to Israel at the invitation of the Israeli government. There, he pioneered “Jerusalem Christian Assembly”, now called “King of Kings”. Today it is the highest profile evangelical congregation in Israel.

Currently Jim produces and hosts a national television show called “Jim Cantelon Today” which focuses on biblical exposition with a contemporary, ‘user friendly’ approach. In conjunction with JCT, he has written a newly published book entitled “Cantelon’s Casual Commentary – a 21st Century guide to the life of Jesus for the internet generation”.

Jim and Kathy have three married children, Todd, Jess, and Kate, and 12 grandchildren.
