Recently my wife Kathy and I spent a few hours with a childhood friend of hers who has been battling several serious diseases. It’s remarkable that she is yet alive but she is. Not only alive but buoyant, good humoured, and joyful. Indeed, her attitude and worldview in the face of constant vulnerability is both countercultural and truly inspiring. Recently my wife and I spent a few days with one of WOW’s international partners. Over the course of those days we met with elderly widows living without family care, orphans, children living with HIV and/or various cancers, and special needs children, all of whom are being supported by our champion pastors and church-based volunteers. We were very touched as we distributed food, medicine, and sweets to these precious souls. And we were/are so grateful that our care is ongoing day by day, week by week, and year by year.
